Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026. This is a starter policy written for a UK online store — have it reviewed against your specific business practices before launch.
Who we are
GK London ("we", "us") operates this website and is the data controller for the personal information collected through it. You can contact us about anything in this policy at support@gklondon.com.
What we collect and why
- Order information — your name, email, phone number, delivery address and order history. We need this to fulfil your purchase, arrange delivery or collection, and provide customer support. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Account information — if you create an account, we store your name, email, password (encrypted — we can never see it) and saved address for faster checkout.
- Stock alerts — if you ask to be notified when an item is back in stock, we keep your email for that single purpose and send one message when it returns.
- Enquiries — messages sent through our contact form, so we can reply to you.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe on their secure payment pages. Your full card details are sent directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. Stripe's handling of your data is covered by their own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We never sell or rent your personal information.
- We don't send marketing emails unless you've explicitly signed up for them, and every one includes an unsubscribe link.
- We don't use invasive tracking or advertising profiles.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as we're required to for tax and accounting purposes (typically six years in the UK). Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it. Stock-alert emails are removed once the notification is sent or on request.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to legal record-keeping requirements). Email support@gklondon.com and we'll respond within one month.
